UL750 in the sense Unlimited plan with monthly rental of 750INR (taxes extra). It provides speed of 256kbps, which is good for normal surfing and small downloads.
Today i am not going to tell you any secret or something different here.I will give you few details about how BSNL or any ISP (Internet service provider) calculate the speed of there connections.

According to plan specifications of 750 UL plan, it is provided that the plan will provide bandwidth of 256kbps (note the small kbps).Means you will get the speed around 32KBps (now note the capital KBps).

Here are some tricks to Speed up Your BSNL Broadband:

• Change default BSNL DNS Servers:
The first thing you have todo to speed up your broadband is change your default DNS Servers. Because, the BSNL DNS servers are very slow. You can change your DNS servers to
208.67.222.222
208.67.220.220
These are Open DNS servers. Open DNS servers are fast, so that you can improve your BSNL Broadband speed.

• Use Ad-Block Plus:
Use Ad-Block Plus a Firefox Add-on to block ads, it will blocks ads which results in saving loading time of a website.

• Install a Download Manager:
Install a Download Manager like IDMDAP. It helps you to increase download speed of your Internet.

• Install TCP Optimizer:
Install TCP Optimizer to optimize your TCP settings to increase your internet speed. It optimizes your computer’s MTU (Maximum Transmission Unit) Values, RWIN (Receive Window) Values, and broadband related registry keys.

• Reduce Cache Space:
Reduce your Web Cache Page to as minimum as you can. Because, it helps you to reduce the time that your browser spends on searching the cache files.
If you are aware of storage conventions and about the TB,GB,KB,kb etc. Then you must ware of the table below.

Data conversion table :

Bite: 8 bits = 1 byte
Bytes: 1024 bytes = 1 KB
Kilobytes: 1024 KB = 1 MB
Megabytes: 1024 MB = 1 GB…….

The Fact :

So, BSNL is providing speed of 256kbps which is equivalent to 32KBps !! So if you are getting speed around 30-32KBps while downloading then you are getting best for what you are paying. If you want any such conversions in broadband plans just divide the number by eight. i.e. 256/8 = 32.

Update: Recently, BSNL has doubled the speed of BSNL Broadband Unlimited Plan from 256 kbps to 512 kbps which is equivalent to 64 KBps!!!
